How do event attendees send requests?
To send a request, party goers send an SMS message to the number associated with your event. The format of texts are as follows:
- Song Request: "play [name of song] by [name of artist]". Ex: "play Let It Be by The Beatles" or "play Let It Be"
- Shoutout: "shoutout [your shoutout]" Ex: "shoutout Happy Birthday Emily! We love you!"
How can I change the email associated with my account?
Email us at email@example.com and we can change your email for you!
How can I create an event?
First, log into your account. Then click “view events,” located on the left-hand side of the screen. From there, click the blue box labeled "Add Event." You should be redirected to a page where you can enter your event settings and create your event.
Is there a free trial for RequestNow?
Everybody can use RequestNow for free for two weeks (one event only), without having to input any credit card information.
In which countries is RequestNow currently available?
Currently we are only available in the U.S., but if you are a DJ in another country, contact us and we'll set you up with an account.
How much does it cost to use RequestNow
You can see pricing information here. However, every user who signs up on the system is allowed to have one "trial" event within 2 weeks of signing up!
Is RequestNow secure enough for me to give my payment information to? Do you store my credit card information?
Your credit card information never touches our servers. We use Stripe to handle payments, and their system is incredibly secure. For additional security, we have SSL encryption on our payments pages.
I think I got charged for something I didn't purchase. What do I do?
Simply contact us and we will refund you within 24 hours.
I want to send the liveview for my event to a friend, but I don't want to give him my account information. Can I do this?
Each event liveview is encrypted so not just anyone can view it. However, if you use the SMS or email buttons on the dashboard (under “view events”) you can send it to anyone.
I am trying to send some test requests to my new event but I get no text in response and nothing shows up for me on the liveview. Why?
Requests are only processed by our system when they are sent to a number associated with an "active" event. Make sure the start time for your event is an hour or so earlier than you expect your guests to arrive so you can test, and make sure you hit Launch on the dashboard.
For how long is my event considered active?
All events are by default 12 hours long.
I set up RequestNow for an event but the event got cancelled / I never used it at the event. The event is now inactive, will I lose an event for the month?
Any event that received less than 5 requests can be edited. So if you had a party that was a bust, then you could just edit the event to correspond to a later event and you would not lose any events for the month.
I am trying to edit an event but the website seems to not be letting me. Why?
This is either because the event had more than 5 requests or the event is not registered as being under your username.
What happens when someone requests a song that the system doesn't recognize?
Even if our system doesn't recognize the request, the request will still appear in "Incoming Messages." We are constantly improving our song search parameters so hopefully this doesn't happen too frequently!
How can I view my events?
Once logged into your account, on the left-hand side of the screen, click view events. To launch an event, simply click "Launch"!
How can I block abusive/spam numbers?
As of right now, unfortunately you cannot block abusive numbers. However, we are working on adding this functionality to the platform. For now, however, the system will aggregate messages from the same user.
